Tree Health in the Town of Glenville

  • Thursday, November 14, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

A public informational event will be held at the Glenville Senior Center on several invasive tree pests and diseases which have been recently observed in the Town of Glenville. These include the hemlock woolly adelgid, the emerald ash borer, and oak wilt.  Representatives from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Town of Glenville and other local organizations will provide current information on the presence and management of these problems.  This event is for Glenville residents and others concerned about the destructive effects of these invasive species on hemlock, ash, and oak trees growing on private property and in the municipal and county preserves.  Hosts for this event are the Schenectady County Environmental Advisory Council Invasive Species Committee; Schenectady County Soil and Water Conservation District; Cornell Cooperative Extension, Schenectady County, and the Town of Glenville.  For more information, please contact (518) 986-5693.
